"Celebi: Voice of the Forest"

Pikachu's Hide and Seek
Celebi: Voice of the Forest

Meanwhile, Ash and his friends are taking a boat ride and enjoying the scenery. Out of the corner of his eye, Ash sees something moving. It turns out to be Suicune. Pikachu sees it as well, and Ash informs the rest of his friends. Just as everyone gets a glimpse of the rare Pokémon, it vanishes. Ash later calls Professor Oak, and informs him about the sighting of Suicune. The professor doesn't take the information truthfully, and doesn't appear interested. Maki, the tour guide, offers them a tour and Ash agrees. Jessie and James are seen flying in a large, manually operated hang-glider. They soon fall to the water. By using balloons to stay afloat, the teens float to a nearby village. Ash, Misty and Brock make their way to the same village. They soon spot the same fallen log, and try to enter the tunnel. However, they are stopped by Towa, and old woman, whom warns them not to enter. Then, a younger woman, with a striking resemblance to Towa, walks up to the gang. Mika, the daughter of Towa, talks about what happened in the forest a long time ago.

The forest begins to grow blurry as blue energy waves are emitted through it. Pikachu senses something from the forest, and begins to run away from Ash and his friends. Ash calls after Pikachu, as his friends and he begins chasing the mouse through the forest. Ash and his friends soon appear in the forest area where the Ilex Forest Shrine is located. A brilliant light emits from around the shrine, and Yukinari and Celebi emerge from within. Celebi flees from the scene, trying to avoid being discovered. Ash walks over to see about the boy that appeared from the strange the light. He decides to take Yukinari back to the village.

When Yukinari finally becomes conscious, his first priority is Celebi. He asks Ash what happened, and where he is now. Mika comes up to the party, followed by her mother, Towa. Towa immediately recognizes that the boy is Yukinari, however, Yukinari doesn't know anyone in the room. Towa shows Yukinari his sketchbook of drawings. Yukinari looks through the book, thinking about his encounter with Celebi.

In the forest once again, Pikachu begins to sense something else. He runs to the tunnel located inside a hollowed out log; Yukinari and Ash are following close behind. Coming to fallen logs, Ash and Yukinari notice a long vine that is hanging down from the trees. Climbing up the vine, Yukinari and Ash are surprised to see many Pokémon. Ash notices Celebi, and quickly nears to get a better look at it. Frightened, Celebi perfoms a Psychic-type attack, nearly throwing the boys and Pikachu off the log. Angered, Ash climbs back up and yells at Celebi. Frightened more, Celebi uses a 'vine whip' attack on the boys. Ash finally decides to take a calmer approach on Celebi. He pats Celebi on its head.

Ash and Yukinari return to Maki's home. She explains to them that there is a lake of pure water that can help Celebi. Ash and his friends set out to find this lake, but are cut off by Team Rocket, whom are standing on a tree branch. The teens say their motto, but are interrupted as Sonansu appears on the limb, breaking the branch. Ash and his friends use this interruption to quickly continue on their search.

Bisashu continues his search for Celebi, through the forest. Still searching for the lake of purity, Ash and his friends run into Bisashu, whom demands to know the whereabouts of Celebi. Without getting answers, he releases his stolen Tyranitar from is captive ball, and orders it to attack Ash and the others. Ash and his friends retreat, and continue through the forest. Misty knee is hurt, and she falls to the ground. While the group is stopped, this allows Bishashu's Pokémon to catch up with their present location. Ash and Yukinari battle with the Scizor and Sneasel. Both trainer's Pokémon defeat Bushashi's Pokémon easily, and continue on.

Soon, Ash and his friends find themselves walking into fog. They encounter Pokémon, from which they follow, leading the group to the lake of purity. Yukinari walks into the lake, and lets Celebi touch the water. Celebi flies into the sunlight and its energy is quickly restored. Celebi heals Misty's knee, and then the group follows Celebi through the forest. Flying happily, Celebi goes through the forest, coming to a berry tree. It eats the berry, enjoying it.

At nightfall, the group decides to set up camp in the forest. During the night, Ash awakes to see Yukinari up. Ash walks over to him to see what he is doing. Yukinari is sketching a picture of Pikachu and Celebi sleeping. After talking, Yukinari gets up and walks through the forest. Pikachu and Celebi follow the boys.

The following morning, everyone returns to the village, and go to Mika's house. Bisashu corners the group, attempting to capture Celebi. Jessie and James come up behind the group with nets in hand. Ash realizes that there will be no easy escape this time. Pikachu tries a Thunderbolt, but the electric shock is deflected by barrier. Bisashu wastes no time in trapping Celebi, and zapping its energy. He then throws his Dark Ball, which easily captures the weakened Celebi...
